ABOUT ROKKU DESIGN

ROKKU DESIGN is a design studio based in Hamburg, Germany. We are specialized in research, design, product development, and production handling for eyewear products. Our clients include brands, manufacturers and retailers. Through a global network of partners, we are able to provide fashionable eyewear at a competitive price.

Founded in 2015, ROKKU DESIGN is a start-up led by two experienced managers who jointly have more than 20 years of experience in the eyewear industry. With a team composed of young creatives and business entrepreneurs we provide our clients with innovative design, professional services and customized product proposals.

RESPONSABILITIES

• Constantly analyze the global eyewear trends in styles, shapes, materials and colors through analysis and direct comparison with suppliers, competitors, customers and other relevant players for the reference brands
• Define and develop creative concepts and mood boards in line with the briefing on brands or private label
• Work closely with all the areas within the Creative department (Technical Product Design and Development, Colors and Materials Styling, Product Management)
• Be contact person for two design colleagues and lead the teamwork
• Develop proposals relating to new stylistic solutions, construction details and processing methods to be presented for approval
• Develop creative designs, mostly using Illustrator, in line with the briefing, submitting them to the work team for approval and improvements until the objectives agreed with the Eyewear Creative Director are achieved
• Develop designs that are feasible and translated into technical drawings (dxf)
• Explain technical details to the Cad Designers and Industrializers colleagues, in order to guarantee their translation into complete and consistent 3D digital formats, transferring the creative contents and stylistic solutions proposed as good as possible
• Carefully check the progress of the technical design, prototyping and product development activities, highlighting any critical issues in terms of performance, quality, times and costs to the areas concerned
• Participate in collection approval meetings, sending any useful information that emerged from the meeting to the company departments concerned in order to make every shared development a common factor
• Color research and development of color proposals for collections

WHAT WE EXPECT

• University degree in Design, Product Development etc. or equivalent experience
• First experience in eyewear design in the industry, preferably internationally
• Knowledge of the European eyewear market and fashion accessories
• Strong proficiency in the use of Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop
• Technical eyewear experience and familiarity with 3D programs advantageous
• Strong command of the English language; knowledge of Italian advantageous
• Resilience, passion and enthusiasm for one's professional projects
• Spirit of enterprise and curiosity
• Reliability, conscientiousness and ability to work under pressure
• Proven track record of leadership, taking ownership, and driving result
• High level of creativity and a sense for fashion and trends
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills

WHAT WE OFFER

At ROKKU you will be part of a young and international team. You can work independently under the guidance of our experienced Creative Director with more than 15 years of experience in the eyewear industry and fashion world.
Our office is located in the heart of Eppendorf, Hamburg. In the top floor of a historical building we are working in an environment that caters to the needs of creatives. Bustling cafés, shops and parks are surrounding our building.
